Westport Public Schools would like to invite you to attend a presentation with Staples High School special education staff, Ms. Laura Giovanetti Assistive Technology Consultant with Cooperative Educational Services, and Mr. Bo Zamfir from the Center for Adaptive Technology at Southern CT State University.
Our presenters will discuss how teachers and students use technology at Staples High School to improve learning, and will discuss how technology is used at the post-secondary level to assist students in teaching their post-secondary goals.

A Panel Discussion on Sharing (or not sharing) Your Child’s Disability from K - 12 and Beyond

Join the Westport SpEd PTA for our annual district-wide Spring coffee featuring a panel of professionals, parents and individuals with special needs on working with your children and your school to present your child’s disability to classmates and the community. Including: Do I have to share my child’s disability? When and how do I begin a discussion with my child about his or her disability? How does that conversation evolve as my child moves through elementary, middle and high school? What does self-advocacy look like as they mature and how can I create a set of goals and objectives to build toward self-advocacy?
