Building Emotional Intelligence in the Westport Public Schools
Westport Public Schools honored Veterans Day on Monday, November 11, 2025, with meaningful programs across the district that brought students, staff, families, and local veterans together. From preschool through high school, students learned about the courage, sacrifice, and service of members of the United States Armed Forces and found age-appropriate ways to express their gratitude.
Daniel Cortright, a Bedford Middle School science teacher and former biochemist, has been named Westport’s 2026 Teacher of the Year. Recognized for making science come alive and inspiring eighth graders, Cortright will represent the district in the state competition later this fall. Read the full article in Westport Journal.
