Authors Series

PTA Council Author Visits Co-Chairs

Work with the Library Media Center (LMC) Specialists and Author Visit Representatives at the elementary schools to plan for and coordinate up to two (2) Author Visits each year.

Duties include: 

  • assisting LMC Specialists when needed to choose and schedule the authors, including reviewing the contract; 

  • working with LMC Specialists to stay within the budget set for author visits by the schools’ PTAs;

  • coordinating book orders with the seller, including to provide information for the ordering website and to test it before launching;

  • providing school reps with a timeline, draft language, and flyers for advertising book sales;

  • making required arrangements for each visiting author (e.g. hotel accommodations, transportation to and from schools etc.); and

  • tracking and paying invoices / expenses of each author.
