Supervisor of Health Services
Suzanne Levasseur holds a Master of Science in Nursing from Pace University, received a certification as a pediatric nurse practitioner from Hunter College, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Catholic University.
Suzanne began her career in pediatric nursing at Westchester Medical Center. She became the Nurse Manager of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit where she stayed for several years. She entered the educational arena as an Associate Professor of Nursing at Mt. St. Mary College, Newburgh, New York. After obtaining her degree as a pediatric nurse practitioner, Suzanne began working at the School- Based Health Center at Danbury High School. This led to her accepting the role as the Coordinator of Health Services for the Danbury Public School District where she stayed for eight years. Suzanne came to Westport as the Coordinator of Health Services in 2011. In this role, she supervises and coordinates the health offices and provides policy development, leadership and guidance to the district in matters related to health and wellness.
Other professional activities include authoring two texts titled Pediatric and Perinatal Nursing Secrets and contributing several chapters in both the text Legal Resources for School Nurses and School Nurse Clinical Resources. Suzanne also provides continuing education both regionally and nationally as a speaker at conferences. She is currently the President of the Association of School Nurses of Connecticut.
In her spare time Suzanne enjoys tennis, hiking, reading and traveling.
