The Westport Public Schools is excited to announce the launch of our new Civics Hub, an online resource created to make civic learning fun and engaging for all.
In partnership with Westport Together, the district will host Dr. Delaney Ruston, physician and filmmaker, creator of the 2016 documentary, “Screenagers”.
Aidan Lapatine and Logan Noorily, a Staples High School senior and junior, respectively, are marking the fifth anniversary of Ethan’s Law, signed in Connecticut in June 2019, by calling on the community to ensure all firearms in their homes are safely secured.
As graduation day approached, about 200 Staples High School seniors took a nostalgic journey back to their elementary school for the district’s first annual “senior walk” last Friday, June 7. This new tradition had soon-to-be graduates walk through the halls of Long Lots, Coleytown, Kings Highway, Saugatuck, and Greens Farms elementary schools to reconnect with the past before stepping into the future.
Westport students took six awards in the 2024 Access Awareness Awards (AAA) for grades K-12, an annual contest sponsored by the Area 9 Cable Council and Altice that recognizes student productions that are broadcasted on Altice’s Educational Access Channel 78 during the school year.
Lauren Francese and Anthony Battaglia were honored for their commitment to excellence in social studies education at the Connecticut Council for the Social Studies (CCSS) 2024 Spring Social, Hosted at the New Haven Museum on May 23.
